Ok, let’s get this straight – I was no where near Gainesville, Florida this time Buckeyes!
When you lost the national football championship back in January on my birthday, I felt bad that we were traveling and watching from Gator Country – I called it the Gainesville Jinx.
But you could easily say that it was merely a fluke as Gainesville was coincidentally on our way to Texas.
But last night – no excuse – you were on your own. I was no where near Florida. In fact, I didn’t even watch the game. (Sorry, I enjoy championship basketball but it doesn’t go into my Outlook calendar months in advance as does football.)
As I turned on the tele last night to catch the end of the national basketball championship, the irony of the Buckeyes getting sweet revenge played tug of war with the irony that those Gators could be making themselves another OSU doormat in front of their trophy case.
So the tube lit up probably only minutes after the game to see a horrible graphic – the Buckeyes let those Gators do it again. Damn! I imagine some entrepreneur in Columbus will take advantage of this and the hottest selling item on The Ohio State University campus next year will be a cute little blue and orange Florida gator – in a noose.
