It was during a recent visit by my mother and step-father that I had a wild idea. They were heading back to Arizona where they are now retired, full-time RVers – taking their lives and show on the road. (See their adventure here!) We try to keep them coming back every 3 months to keep their great influence around us and the kids.
Mom mentioned going to the Grand Canyon when it hit me. I bought a new camera lens recently to capture the Milky Way galaxy (astrophotography) but was struggling with “light pollution” in our area. So I jokingly said, “How about I come out and visit YOU next time and we go up to the Grand Canyon together!”
And the idea was born. So here I am along with my two daughters – in the Arizona desert with my parents enjoying our first taste of RVing. We’ve jumped into the deep end – boondocking or wild camping – parking the RV in the wild without hookups (electricity or water) and living off the land.
And wow are we loving it!
Today was a great visit up to the Red Rock state park. A great little hike and some great moments captured.
